Ingredients
- 4 1/3 Cup All Purpose Flour
- 3/4 Cup Milk
- 2 1/4 Tsp Active Yeast + 1 Tsp Sugar (1 Yeast Packet)
- 1 Egg
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 2 TBSP Sugar
- 5 TBSP Butter
- 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- Glazed Icing
- 3 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 Tsp Salt
- 1/3 Cup Milk
Instructions
- Add Milk to a Sauce Pan and Scold Milk over Medium Heat
- Stir Frequently and Allow Milk to Reach 180º
- Allow Milk to Cool to 110º
- Add 1 Tsp Sugar to Milk and add Yeast Packet
- Allow to sit and activate yeast
- Once Yeast has started to foam add Milk, Butter, Vanilla Extract, Sugar, Egg and Egg Yolk to mixing bowl
- Start stand mixer on Low/Medium Speed and start adding in flour
- Lightly Grease a bowl and once dough has formed and springs back when touched pinch dough into a ball and place in the bowl and cover with either a damp towel or saran wrap
- Allow dough to double in size (usually takes and hour)
- Remove dough and flour surface
- Knead dough for 5 minutes
- Using a rolling pin roll out dough (about 1/4 inch)
- Use donut cutter and cut out donuts
- Place cut out donuts on parchment paper and allow donuts to rise (about 30 Minutes)
- Preheat Oil in A large pan or Dutch Oven to 375º
- Place Donuts in oil and cook for a minute on each side or until donuts become a deep golden brown color
- While donuts are still hot place donuts in glaze and coat
- Place Donuts on a wire rack and allow glaze to cool
- Serve and Enjoy!!
